Adult Swim has announced that its signature animated series “Rick and Morty” will air its sixth season starting September 4th.
What awaits in these new episodes? The network’s synopsis reads: “Pick up where we left them, worse for wear and down on their luck. Will they manage to bounce back for more adventures? Or will they get swept up in an ocean of piss! Who knows?! Piss! Family! Intrigue! A bunch of dinosaurs! More piss!”
The series has ranked as the top comedy across all U.S. cable in 2017, 2019 and 2021. The new season will mark episodes #21-30 of the massive 70-episode deal announced in 2018 that the network did with co-creators Dan Harmon and Justin Roiland.
Assuming they stick to the ten-episode per season slate, we can expect at least four more seasons after the upcoming run.
