Ryan Reynolds and Kenneth Branagh have been set to star in “Game Night” and “Dungeons and Dragons: Honor Among Thieves” directors Jonathan Goldstein and John Francis Daley’s next film “Mayday” at Apple Original Films and Skydance.
The action-adventure feature is based on an original pitch from Goldstein and Daley, who came to Skydance earlier this year with the idea and began developing it.
Reynolds showed interest in April to join the film and the project began moving forward, but a start date is still undetermined. Nonetheless, it’s expected this will be the next thing Reynolds shoots once he wraps “Deadpool 3” which is currently in production.
Story details are under wraps. In addition to writing and directing, Goldstein and Daley will serve as producers alongside Reynolds, David Ellison, Dana Goldberg, Don Granger, Ashley Fox, Johnny Pariseau and Patrick Gooing.
Reynolds previously worked with Apple on Christmas musical “Spirited” which at the time was the biggest film to premiere on Apple+ in the studio’s history. He also worked with Skydance on the Netflix sci-fi feature “The Adam Project”.
With no production date yet locked, no release window has been set aside for the film either at this moment.
