“Return to Silent Hill” Sets Cinema Release

CineVerse

Cineverse, Bloody Disgusting and Iconic Events Releasing, who previously teamed on the theatrical releases of the “Terrifier” films, are doing so again for two more horror reboots – “Silent Night, Deadly Night” and “Return To Silent Hill”.

“Silent Night, Deadly Night” is a new take on the highly controversial 1984 slasher film about a young man named Billy Chapman who witnesses his parents’ murder on Christmas Eve by a man disguised as Santa Claus as a young child.

Raised in an abusive Catholic orphanage, he reaches adulthood and turns into a spree killer donning a Santa suit. The new version sees “Halloween Ends,” “The Hardy Boys” and “The Monkey” actor Rohan Campbell take on the role of Billy.

The new take is written and directed by Mike P. Nelson (“Wrong Turn”) and stars the likes of Ruby Modine, Mark Acheson, David Lawrence Brown, and David Tomlinson. It gets an unrated, wide release on December 12th.

“Return to Silent Hill” on the other hand is a new psychological horror film adaptation of the popular video game series by Konami.

Director/co-writer Christophe Gans, who helmed the well-regarded 2006 film adaptation, returns for the new entry that this time will serve as a direct adaptation of the most acclaimed and recently remade game in the series – “Silent Hill 2”.

The story follows James (Jeremy Irvine), a man broken after his relationship with the love of his life, Mary (Hannah Emily Anderson), ends. When a mysterious letter from her calls him back to Silent Hill, he finds a once-recognisable town transformed into a fog-enshrouded nightmare filled with terrifying creatures.

The game series’ original composer Akira Yamaoka is returning for the movie which is set for release in cinemas on January 23rd 2026.
