“Return To Silent Hill” Film Announced

Konami

Konami has held its “Silent Hill” livestream presentation and revealed details on the new film based on the franchise.

The film is set to be titled “Return to Silent Hill” and sees a man returning to the eponymous town to find his lost love.

The film’s director Christophe Gans says that whilst its a return to the same town as his 2006 film, it will be more psychological horror than the first and be updated for more modern audiences.

It also takes its cues from both the “Silent Hill 2” game and the Orpheus myth, with the filmmakers stressing it will acknowledge the passing of time and will contain new surprises.

The plan is for a short film of around 90-100 minutes of length. Gans also says the film will re-design some of the original creature effects – but does confirm that Pyramid Head will be back with storyboards shown off indicating his design won’t change much.

No dates were mentioned in terms of production or release dates.
