“Resident Evil 4” Remake In The Works?

Capcom reportedly plans to release a remake of “Resident Evil 4” in 2022 according to “multiple development sources” for Video Games Chronicle who say the project is already in full production.

The site indicates development is being handled by the Osaka-based, Capcom-backed M-Two studio of former PlatinumGames head Tatsuya Minami. M-Two recently worked as a support studio on the just released “Resident Evil 3” make, but will take pole position here.

The remake is also reportedly being undertaken with the tacit blessing of original game director Shinji Mikami who apparently “provided informal advice”.

The original game was first released in 2005 for the GameCube and PS2 and PC in 2007. It is considered by many to be the finest game in the series and a definitive game of the 2000s.
