Celebrated Oscar-winning actress Regina King (“The Harder They Fall,” “If Beale Street Could Talk”) is following up her acclaimed feature directorial debut “One Night in Miami” with a Netflix series adaptation of Tom Wolfe’s 1998 novel “The Man in Full”.

Set in Atlanta, the story follows different characters as they try to capitalize on a real estate mogul’s bankruptcy and subsequent downfall. Wolfe’s work inspired the likes of Philip Kaufman’s legendary “The Right Stuff” film and Brian DePalma’s infamous flop “The Bonfire of the Vanities”.

Netflix has ordered six one-hour episodes for the limited series, with King set to direct the first half of the run. David E. Kelley (“Big Little Lies,” “The Undoing,” “Big Sky”) will serve as executive producer, showrunner and writer.

King is very used to the rhythms of TV. Not only was she a regular on the likes of “Watchmen,” “Southland,” “The Leftovers” and “24,” she’s an accomplished TV director with episodes of shows like “Shameless,” “This is Us,” “Insecure,” “Animal Kingdom” and “Scandal” among others under her belt.
