The Emmys red carpet is currently underway and with it some familiar faces are offering brief updates on how various projects are progressing.
That includes filmmaker Matt Reeves who is on hand to support “The Penguin” which is expected to be a serious player in the limited series categories.
Reeves of course is gearing up to direct “The Batman: Part II” next year and confirmed to Variety today he has shared the film’s script with Robert Pattinson, adding that: “I’m excited about the idea that we can deep farther even more than the first film.”
He also confirms that shooting on the film is currently targeting an “end of April or beginning of May” start next year. As previously indicated, Pattinson, Jeffrey Wright, Andy Serkis and Colin Farrell are all expected back.
He also says: “It’s been a long journey, but I am so incredibly excited. I’m really proud of the script me and Mattson [Tomlin] did.”
Next, he also says “we’re in discussions” in regards to doing a potential second season of HBO’s “The Penguin,” adding: “We’re in discussions. [Showrunner] Lauren [Lefranc] is thinking hard and we’re talking, so we’ll see.”
Both Colin Farrell and Cristin Milioti are tipped to be major contenders in the limited series acting categories tonight.
