Reeves Reprises Wick Role In “Ballerina”

Fresh from the news that Ian McShane will reprise his role of Winston in the “John Wick” spin-off film “Ballerina” comes word from Collider that the film will also see Keanu Reeves reprise the role of John Wick himself.

Reeves is reportedly currently in Prague for the project, which began production in the Czech Republic capital yesterday. It is reportedly not yet clear if Reeves’ reprisal will be merely a cameo, or if he will have a larger part to play in the overarching story.

“Knives Out” and “No Time to Die” star Ana de Armas leads the cast of the film, which is being directed by Len Wiseman (“Live Free or Die Hard,” “Underworld”) from a script by Shay Hatten.

It’s also not clear where in the timeline of the franchise “Ballerina” will unfold. The story follows de Armas as a young woman with killer skills who uses them to get revenge when her family is killed by hitmen.

The project joins another spin-off on the way, a prequel series titled “The Continental” that looks at the early years of Winston’s life. That is being released via Peacock in the U.S. and on Amazon everywhere else.

Meanwhile a fourth entry in the main “John Wick” film series is on track for release in March next year.
