Rebecca Ferguson is in final talks to star in Skydance’s revenge thriller “Best Served Cold” based on Joe Abercrombie’s bestselling book of the same name.
Originally published as part of the First Law World series in 2009, Ferguson will play legendary mercenary Monza Murcatto, aka. The Snake of Talins, the most feared hired gun in the employ of the ruthless Grand Duke Orso.
Her victories have made her popular, too popular for her employer’s taste so he betrays and leaves her for dead. But she lives, armed with a broken body and a burning hunger for vengeance.
“Deadpool” and “Terminator: Dark Fate” helmer Tim Miller will direct. Miller and Abercrombie previously worked together on the Netflix series “Love, Death & Robots”.
David Ellison, Dana Goldberg, Don Granger, Aaron Ryder, Miller and Abercrombie will produce with Abercrombie adapting his own work.
This marks a busy year for Ferguson, who is getting rave notices for her work in Apple TV+ sci-fi series “Silo,” has Christopher McQuarrie’s “Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One” opening in July and Denis Villeneuve’s “Dune: Part Two” opening in November.
