The Razzie Awards, which usually honors the worst that Hollywood has to offer, were scheduled to take place this weekend in Los Angeles.
However the co-founder of the awards has confirmed that the event, the 40th one in the awards’ history, is now either “cancelled/postponed,” saying in a statement that due to the Mayor of Los Angeles shutting down all city-owned venues where more than 50 people could gather, including The Barnsdall Theatre where it was to be held.
“Cats,” “A Madea Family Funeral” and “Rambo: Last Blood” led the charge in terms of nominations this year. Winners are usually announced the day before the Academy Awards but plans changed this year due to the Oscars going so early.
