Ray Stevenson (“Thor,” “Vikings”) has scored a role in the upcoming “Star Wars: Ahsoka” series for the Disney+ service and Lucasfilm.
The series follows fan-favorite Jedi character Ahsoka Tano (Rosario Dawson) who made her live-action debut in the second season of “The Mandalorian” and recently appeared in an episode of “The Book of Boba Fett”.
While story details are under wraps, the suggestion is Tano is journeying from one end of the galaxy to another in search of Grand Admiral Thrawn, a blue-skinned master strategist and former commander in the Empire.
Stevenson is reportedly playing a villain in the series and will play an admiral – but not Thrawn. The actor previously voiced a character named Gar Saxon in the animated “Star Wars Rebels” and “Star Wars: The Clone Wars”.
Stevenson has played multiple memorable villain roles on TV over the years from a season-long antagonist on “Dexter” to his turn as Blackbeard on “Black Sails” where his character was keelhauled in one of the most brutal death sequences put to television.
Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Ivanna Sakhno and Natasha Liu Bordizzo co-star while Hayden Christensen is reprising his role as Anakin Skywalker in the series. “Ahsoka” is due to begin shooting in Los Angeles at the end of April.
