Ratner Returns With Milli Vanilli Biopic

“Rush Hour” and “X-Men: The Last Stand” filmmaker Brett Ratner is reportedly lining up a comeback vehicle – his long-time passion project about infamous pop duo Milli Vanilli.

Millennium Media and Ratner’s RatPac Entertainment are teaming on the project which will mark Ratner’s first feature directing job since 2014.

In late 2017, seven women accused the filmmaker of sexual harassment and misconduct – including actresses Olivia Munn and Natasha Henstridge.

As a result, Warner Bros. Pictures severed all ties with Ratner with whom they had a lucrative deal. Ratner has denied the claims but has kept a low profile since then though recently was announced as being involved in one of the many GameStop movie projects in development.

Ratner has been attached to the untitled Milli Vanilli film for over a decade and has the life rights with plans to feature all of the German-French R&B duo’s hits.

Jeff Nathanson (“Rush Hour”) penned the script for the film which will explore their success in the late 1980s and early 1990s before the lip-sync scandal led to their downfall. Band member Rob Pilatus died at the age of 32.
