“Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart” Coming To PC

Insomniac Games

After Nixxes Software great success porting Insomniac Games’ two “Marvel’s Spider-Man” PlayStation games to PC, the companies are re-teaming to do it all again – this time with “Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart”.

Sony Interactive Entertainment has set a July 26th 2023 release date for the PC port of the PlayStation 5 title which was released to the console back in June 2021.

The PC version features ray-traced reflections with a variety of quality levels to choose from and newly added ray-traced shadows for natural light in outdoor areas – enabling more realistic shadows with natural gradients in softness.

Also added is support for 21:9, 32:9 and up to 48:9 resolutions for triple monitor setups. Both gameplay and cutscenes will be optimized for ultra-wide screens, with cinematics adjusted to ensure compatibility with panoramic aspect ratios.

There are also unlocked framerates and support for all the latest upscaling technology, including NVIDIA DLSS 3, AMD FSR 2, Intel XeSS and Insomniac Games’ own Temporal Injection.

NVIDIA Reflex and image quality enhancing NVIDIA DLAA are also supported. There’s also full mouse and keyboard support with customizable controls, and controllers are also fully supported – including the DualSense controller’s haptic feedback and dynamic trigger effects when on a wired connection.

One issue not mentioned in the press release but will likely be a minimum requirement will revolve around hard drives. The game was designed specifically for the PS5’s SSD storage system meaning an NVMe PCIe 4.0 drive with 5,500MB/second or faster sequential read speeds may well be mandatory for PC’s hoping to run the game.

The minimum specs have not yet been released, but the game is now available to pre-order on Steam and Epic Games Store.
