Just two weeks it debuted to great reviews and strong numbers, HBO Max has renewed Ridley Scott’s trippy sci-fi series “Raised by Wolves” for a second season.
The story centers on two androids tasked with raising human children on a mysterious virgin planet. As the burgeoning colony of humans threatens to be torn apart by religious differences, the androids learn that controlling the beliefs of humans is a treacherous and difficult task.
Sarah Aubrey, head of HBO Max, said in a statement: “This chart-topping series beautifully weaves together Ridley’s hallmarks of sci-fi and horror while offering fans one of the most original storylines they’ve seen in some time. I can’t wait to see what’s in store for season two.”
The ten-episode series premiere debuted on September 3rd on HBO Max with Scott directing the first two episodes. Viewership of the second week of episodes reportedly grew by 50%. The finale will bow on October 1st.
The Kevin Hart-starring action comedy Die Hart, Quibi’s first actual hit, has unsurprisingly been renewed for a second season which will go by the title “Die Harter”. Hart will continue to serve as executive producer.
In the first season Hart played a version of himself trying to step out of the role of ‘comedic sidekick’ by going to the world’s greatest action star school. While there, the school’s lunatic director (John Travolta) and tough-minded rival student (Nathalie Emmanuel) pushed him to his limits. Jean Reno and Josh Hartnett also star.
