Rabbids Gets A Director A New Home

Todd Strauss-Schulson (“Isn’t It Romantic”) is in early talks to direct the animation/live-action hybrid feature based on Ubisoft’s long-running and popular video game series “Rabbids”.

Lionsgate has acquired the rights to adapt the characters for the film with Todd Lieberman, David Hoberman, Jason Altman and Margaret Boykin to produce.

“Robot Chicken” scribes Matt Senreich, Tom Sheppard and Zeb Wells, with revisions handled by Todd Rosenberg. Said script was originally setup at Sony and comes with the deal at its new Lionsgate home.

Ubisoft has various other film and TV projects in the works including animated TV series based on their “Watch Dogs” and “Far Cry” franchises, a film based on “The Division,” and an upcoming live-action comedy series from Rob McElhenney and Charlie Day for Apple+.
