R.M.Green To Direct Bob Marley Biopic

Paramount Pictures has set Reinaldo Marcus Green (“Monsters and Men”) to direct its Bob Marley biopic.

Though he died of cancer in 1981 at age 36, Bob Marley managed to change the landscape of music with his reggae hits like “Get Up, Stand Up,” “One Love,” “No Woman, No Cry,” “Could You Be Loved,” “Buffalo Soldier,” “Jammin” and “Redemption Song.”

Ziggy Marley, Rita Marley and Cedella Marley will produce on behalf of Tuff Gong. Robert Teitel will also produce.

Green has two films he’s already shot releasing later this year – the Mark Wahlberg-led “Joe Bell,” and the Will Smith-led biopic “King Richard” about the father of tennis champs Serena and Venus Williams.
