R.I.P. Wilford Brimley

Iconic character actor Wilford Brimley has died at the age of 85, passing away Saturday morning at his home in Utah reports TMZ. This was following days of being in an ICU wing of a hospital on dialysis and very sick.

Brimely’s iconic screen work includes such films as “Cocoon,” “The Thing,” “The Natural,” “The China Syndrome,” “The Firm,” “Hard Target,” “In & Out,” “My Fellow Americans,” “Absence of Malice,” “Tender Mercies,” “High Road to China,” “10 to Midnight” and “The Electric Horseman”.

He also had TV roles in “The Waltons,” “The Oregon Trail,” “Our House” and telemovies like telemovie “Ewoks: The Battle for Endor,” “The Wild Wild West Revisited,” “Amber Waves,” “Roughnecks” and “Rodeo Girl”.

Brimley is also remembered for his TV commercial work both for Quaker Oats and about diabetes. He is survived by his wife, Beverly, and his three children.
