R.I.P. Stuart Gordon

Cult filmmaker Stuart Gordon has passed away at the age of 72. A cause of death has not yet been attributed.

Gordon is best known for his work in indie horror, helming such features as the H.P. Lovecraft adaptations “Re-Animator,” “From Beyond” and “Dagon” along with the Christopher Lambert-led “Fortress”.

He also penned the family classic “Honey, I Shrunk the Kids” and founded the Organic Theater Company with his wife, Carolyn Purdy-Gordon. Gordon also directed and co-wrote the book for the “Re-Animator” musical.

Gordon is survived by his wife, daughters Suzanna, Jillian and Margaret Gordon, four grandchildren and his brother, David George Gordon.
