Iconic filmmaker Peter Bogdanovich reportedly died today at his home in Los Angeles from natural causes. He was 82.

Bogdanovich arrived in 1971 with the highly acclaimed “The Last Picture Show” which earned him Oscar nominations for Best Director and Adapted Screenplay.

The celebrated film, a part of the Library of Congress’ National Film Registry, were followed up by several classics including “What’s Up, Doc?” and “Paper Moon” along with other notable films like “Saint Jack,” “Mask,” “The Thing Called Love,” and “The Cat’s Meow”.

An accomplished film historian, he directed multiple documentaries and published over ten books about other influential filmmakers. He was also a celebrated film writer and critic, and an actor with over fifty credits including a recurring role on “The Sopranos” and appearances in films from “Kill Bill” to “54” to “It: Chapter Two”.
