Canadian filmmaker Jean-Marc Vallée has died aged 58. The Emmy winner and Oscar nominee reportedly died over the weekend in Quebec City, but no cause of death has been given.

Vallée first broke through with 2005’s “C.R.A.Z.Y.,” 2009’s “The Young Victoria” and 2011’s “Cafe de Flore”. He then achieved a lot of awards recognition for his next film, 2013’s “Dallas Buyers Club”.

That was followed up by 2014’s acclaimed “Wild” and the less well-regarded “Demolition”. He bounded back by switching to TV where he directed the entire first season of HBO’s “Big Litle Lies” and the HBO limited series “Sharp Objects”.

Our sincerest condolences go out to his family, friends and fans.
