R.I.P. James Lipton

Famed former “Inside the Actors Studio” host James Lipton has died, he was 93. Lipton’s death was said to be peaceful and confirmed to TMZ on Monday morning by his wife.

Lipton was the Dean Emeritus of the Actors Studio Drama School at Pace University and retired from his famed Emmy-winning series hosting gig in 2018 after hosting it for 24 years.

The Bravo network show featured Lipton asking nearly 300 actors across film and television various thoughtful questions, including the famed ‘Pivot Questionnaire’.

Lipton often gave students in the live audience a chance to ask questions of the actors themselves, at one time a student named Bradley Cooper did so and years later went on to sit in the guest chair.

Lipton was also a successful TV writer, working on shows such as “Another World,” “Return to Peyton Place,” “Capitol” and “Guiding Light”.
