R.I.P. Daria Nicolodi

Italian actress and screenwriter Daria Nicolodi has died at the age of 70.

Nicolodi broke into the movies in the 1970s and had been continuing to act consistently through to the early 2000s.

She is best known for her collaborations with Dario Argento on what are often considered his two greatest masterpieces – first starring as the female lead journalist character in “Deep Red,” then co-writing the original “Suspiria”.

She appeared in numerous other Argento works throughout his ‘golden period’ including “Inferno,” “Tenebrae,” “Phenomena,” and “Opera”.

She and the filmmaker had a daughter together, Asia Argento, who confirmed the news of her mother’s passing in an Instagram post.
