Iconic character actor and six-time Emmy nominee Brian Dennehy has passed away from natural causes at the age of 81. Dennehy’s daughter, actress Elizabeth Dennehy, broke the news.
She said in a post: “It is with heavy hearts we announce that our father, Brian passed away last night from natural causes, not Covid-related. Larger than life, generous to a fault, a proud and devoted father and grandfather, he will be missed by his wife Jennifer, family and many friends.”
Dennehy’s roles were countless and plentiful from “First Blood to “Tommy Boy,” “Foul Play,” “Cocoon,” “Silverado,” “F/X,” “Ratatouille,” “Legal Eagles,” “Knight of Cups,” “Romeo + Juliet,” “Presumed Innocent” and “Tag”.
Most recently he had been recurring on NBC’s “The Blacklist” and still has one more appearance on that series. Series creator/executive producer Jon Bokenkamp says they are working with existing and previously filmed footage to complete the nineteenth episode which stars Dennehy and which will serve as the season finale.
