The Amy Adams-led and Joe Wright-directed mystery thriller based on A.J. Finn’s novel “The Woman in the Window” is ditching a theatrical release it seems as a new report indicates it’s going directly to Netflix sometime in 2021. [Source: EW]
R.I.P. Marion Ramsey
Marion Ramsey, who played the diminutive but capable of intimidating Officer Laverne Hooks in the “Police Academy” films, has died at her home in Los Angeles. She was 73.
Ramsey also appeared in 1964’s “Hello, Dolly” and was also a stage actress for decades. She also voiced D.I. Holler in the animated “The Addams Family” in the 1990s. [Source Variety]
Misanthrope
“Watchmen” actor Jovan Adepo has joined Damian Szifron’s serial killer thriller “Misanthrope,” opposite Shailene Woodley and Ben Mendelsohn, at FilmNation. Shooting begins in Montreal this month.
The story follows a talented, but troubled cop, who is recruited by the FBI to help profile and track down a mass murderer. Adepo will play a young FBI agent, who is deeply involved in hunting down the murderer. [Source: Deadline]
Earwig and the Witch
GKIDS has set a February 5th HBO Max streaming debut and a February 11th select cinema debut of Goro Miyazaki’s “Earwig and the Witch,” the first fully CG animated feature that hails from Studio Ghibli. [Source: GKIDS]
