Quick News: Witcher, Play, Fairy, Inkwell

The Witcher
Netflix has released the official logo for “Nightmare of the Wolf,” the animated spin-off feature set within the world of their live-action “The Witcher” TV series adaptation.

Not adapting any of Andrzej Sapkowski’s novels and short stories, the movie will introduce the pivotal character Vesemir who will play a big part in the show’s second season. No official date for either the film or new season has been set. [Source: Twitter]

Revolver
Dutch production house Revolver Amsterdam has acquired the film rights to A. F. Th. van der Heijden’s novel “Play Dead” which inspired by the 2014 Malaysia Airlines Flight 17 disaster.

The passenger flight from Amsterdam to Kuala Lumpur was shot down over Eastern Ukraine with all onboard killed. Dutch director Rolf van Eijk helms from a script by Roelof Jan Minneboo. [Source: Variety]

The Thirteenth Fairy
Melissa de la Cruz will adapt “The Thirteenth Fairy,” the first instalment in her “The Chronicles of Never After” middle-grade series, into a television movie.

This will follow middle schooler Filomena Jefferson-Cho after she is followed home one day by Jack Stalker, the hero from her favorite book series, and magically slips into the fictional world she’s spent so long daydreaming about. [Source: Deadline]

Inkwell
HBO Max has begun development of the drama series “Inkwell” from writers-directors-producers Gerard Bush and Christopher Renz (“Antebellum”). The duo will write and direct both the pilot and finale episodes.

The story follows a pod of uber affluent Black surfers that suddenly find themselves catapulted into a battle against a mysterious dark superpower consuming the country. [Source: Spoiler TV]
