Harvey Weinstein
Queen Elizabeth II has officially stripped disgraced Hollywood producer Harvey Weinstein of the Commander of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire (CBE) honor which he had been awarded in 2004. In a statement, a representative for the Queen said Weinstein’s appointment “shall be cancelled and annulled and that his name shall be erased from the Register of the said Order.” [Source: THR]

Wander Darkly
Lionsgate has acquired North American rights to the Sienna Miller-led “Wander Darkly” for a Fall release. Plans are to mount an awards campaign for Miller for best actress, as well as other eligible categories.

Premiering at Sundance, the story of a couple, Adrienne (Miller) and Matteo (Diego Luna), who endure a traumatic accident. They are both left in a surreal state that brings them on a disorienting journey through the duality of their shared moments. [Source: Lionsgate]

Rebel
ABC has handed out a straight-to-series order for “Rebel,” the Katey Sagal-led series inspired by the life of Erin Brockovich which will debut in 2021. John Corbett, James Lesure, Lex Scott Davis, Tamala Jones, Ariela Barer, Kevin Zegers, Sam Palladio and Andy Garcia co-star while Krista Vernoff (“Station 19”) wrote the pilot and executive produces.

Sagal plays Annie ‘Rebel’ Bello, a blue-collar legal advocate without a law degree. She’s described as a funny, messy, brilliant and fearless woman who cares desperately about the causes she fights for and the people she loves. When Rebel applies herself to a fight she believes in, she will win at almost any cost. [Source: Variety]

A Rainy Day in New York
MPI Media Group and Signature Entertainment have set an October 9th U.S. release date for Woody Allen’s romantic comedy feature “A Rainy Day in New York” – more than year since it was delayed by Amazon Studios. The Timothee Chalamet and Elle Fanning-led feature follows college sweethearts whose plans for a romantic weekend together in New York City are dashed. Thirst
HBO is developing the hip hop vampire drama “Thirst” which hails from writers Leah Benavides Rodriguez and Carlito Rodriguez for Macro Television Studios. Kevin Jordan will executive produce while the two Rodriguez’s will serve as writers, executive producers and showrunners.

The story follows a brilliant but cocky Atlanta rapper who thinks he’s found his way to stardom when he links up with hip-hop’s hottest group. But he has no idea they are hiding a terrifying secret: They are a family of vampires with roots going back centuries. [Source: Variety]
