A photo has been posted of Pedro Pascal & Ethan Hawke wrapping filming on the set of Pedro Almodovar’s Western short film “Strange Way of Life”. The half-hour film is dubbed a “very intimate portrait of masculinity” and the famed filmmaker’s “answer to Brokeback Mountain.” [Source: Instagram]
Causeway
A24 has set a November 4th premiere date on the Apple TV+ service of the Jennifer Lawrence-led and Lila Neugebauera-directed drama feature “Causeway”.
Premiering in Toronto shortly, the film offers an intimate portrait of a soldier as she struggles with the transition back to her normal life. Brian Tyree Henry co-star. [Source: Variety]
Netflix
Netflix is reportedly moving up its launch of a cheaper, ad-supported plan to November 1st in multiple countries, including the U.S., U.K., France, Germany and more. Netflix’s ad-supported tier will have an ad load of about 4 minutes per hour for a series.
That’s far earlier than the “early part of 2023” target that was mentioned to investors back in July. The move does get them ahead of the planned Disney+ ad-supported tier launch, which takes place on December 8th. [Source: Variety]
Midnight Club
New photos have been released from Mike Flanagan’s latest Netflix series “The Midnight Club,” with the shots featuring the return of three regulars of the celebrated filmmaker – Rahul Kohli, Zach Gilford and Samantha Sloyan. All three starred in Flanagan’s “Midnight Mass” last yesr. “The Midnight Club” comes to Netflix on October 7th.
God of War: Ragnarok
Sony has premiered a new gameplay video from “God of War: Ragnarok” offer a look at some of the combat action in this follow-up to one of the most highly acclaimed games of the past decade.
The clip shows Kratos’ new moves and enemies, along with the ability to endow his Blades of Chaos and Leviathan Axe with fire and ice powers. He’s also able to use his Blades as a grapple and has new shields that offer different abilities. The game hits later this year.
