Quick News Virtuoso Heights Sparks 7a

The Virtuoso
Lionsgate has picked up the North American and U.K. rights to Nick Stagliano’s noir thriller “The Virtuoso starring Anson Mount, Abbie Cornish, Sir Anthony Hopkins, Eddie Marsan and David Morse. Plan is for a cinema and on-demand in the second quarter of this year.

James C. Wolf wrote the screenplay in which Hopkins plays the head of a sophisticated group of highly skilled assassins. Mount is the top hitman and, to satisfy an outstanding debt, accepts a new assignment to take out someone whom he’ll only know by a code word and that they will be in a rustic diner in a dying town. In the Heights
HBO Max’s adaptation of Lin-Manuel Miranda’s hit musical “In the Heights” has been moved up a week and will now open June 11th instead of June 18th. Director Jon M. Chu broke the news on Twitter, saying fan demand since the recent trailers have allowed them to move up the title. [Source: Variety]

The Sparks Brothers
Focus Features is set to release Edgar Wright’s documentary directing debut “The Sparks Brothers” on June 18th. Universal is handling the international release.

The story chronicles the decades-long career and influence of the cult pop duo the Sparks and features archival footage as well as interviews with fans like Beck, Flea, Neil Gaiman and Mike Myers. [Source: THR]

Apartment 7A
Acclaimed “Relic” helmer Natalie Erika James will direct while “13 Hours” actor John Krasinski and director Michael Bay will both produce the psychological thriller “Apartment 7A” for Paramount Players and Platinum Dunes.
