Former “Game of Thrones” star Lena Headey will make her feature directorial debut on the psychological thriller “Violet” based on the recent novel by SJI Holliday and adapted by Gareth Pritchard.

The story follows two solo female travelers who hit it off and decide to team up on the next leg of their adventure. As the journey continues things start to unravel as neither woman is who they claim to be. Filming will begin in October. [Source: Deadline]

Crazy Rich Asians 2
Chinese-Australian writer Amy Wang has been hired to pen the “Crazy Rich Asians” sequel at Warner Bros. Pictures and Color Force.

Wang replaces Peter Chiarelli and Adele Lim who wrote the first which was the subject of a 2019 controversy around pay parity. Wang will have sole writing duties on the Jon M. Chu-directed sequel. [Source: THR]

PlayStation
PlayStation Studios has acquired Montreal-based Haven Studios, a new development team led by Jade Raymond who served as former head of Ubisoft Toronto and EA Motive.

The studio is already reportedly developing a new property for PlayStation, described as an ‘AAA multiplayer experience’ with the company set to work on new, original IP for PlayStation. [Source: PlayStation.com]

Secret Daughter
Priyanka Chopra Jonas and Sienna Miller will lead a film adaptation of Shilpi Somaya Gowda’s novel “Secret Daughter” which is in negotiations to be setup at Amazon Studios.

The story follows two women interconnected by a child – a San Francisco married physician who learns she’s infertile, and a poor Indian mother who makes a heartbreaking choice. Anthony Chen (“Ilo Ilo”) will direct from a script by Shruti Ganguly. [Source: Deadline]
