In his latest Patreon posting (via The Direct), industry insider Daniel Richtman indicates that filming on the next “Venom” movie is being targeted to run from June to September in England.
If accurate, that would suggest a late Summer/early Fall 2024 release for the Sony Marvel title. Kelly Marcel is expected to helm the film, which will likely be Tom Hardy’s last outing in the role.
South Park
Comedy Central has officially confirmed that the six-episode 26th season of Matt Stone and Trey Parker’s long-running animated comedy “South Park” will premiere on February 8th at 10pm US-ET. Though not confirmed, more “South Park” specials are expected later this year. [Source: Comedy Central]
Regal Cinemas
As its parent company Cineworld continues bankruptcy proceedings, Regal Cinemas is set to close thirty-nine of its cinemas starting next month.
This includes the Sherman Oaks Galleria location in California it acquired from the defunct Arclight Cinemas as well as Union Square Stadium 14 in New York. The cinema chain will begin rejecting leases for the closing locations on February 15th. [Source: The Wrap]
Little Richard: I Am Everything
Following its premiere at Sundance, Magnolia Pictures has acquired worldwide rights to “Little Richard: I Am Everything” from CNN Films with plans for an April release.
Lisa Cortés directs the documentary film, which examines the impact that Richard Penniman, known professionally as Little Richard, had on the origins of rock and roll, and his personal struggles with his sexuality and religious faith. [Source: Variety]
Apple
Following its ‘Everyone but Jon Hamm’ ad, which poked gentle fun at the fact the actor didn’t have an Apple TV+ series or film at that time (and later he joined “The Morning Show”), the streamer has now enlisted Timothée Chalamet for a similar style (albeit more ambitious) promo following the same approach.
