Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem
“Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem” production designer Yashar Kassai has surprisingly revealed that Wong Kar-Wai’s legendary 1994 arthouse film “Chungking Express” had a big influence on the design of the new animated ‘Turtles’ film opening August 2nd.

Wong’s film is rich with warm colors and strong lighting at night, which impacted Kassai who aimed to diversify “what New York at nighttime looks like and giving it a variety of different color schemes”. [Source: Variety]

Batman: Mask of the Phantasm
Warner Bros. Home Entertainment is set to release the highly acclaimed 1993 animated feature “Batman: Mask of the Phantasm” on 4K UHD disc this coming September 12th. Details on the back of the release indicate the film won’t be in HDR but will have a DTS-HD MA soundtrack. [Source: Dawn of the Discs]

Elite
Netflix has officially confirmed that it has renewed its popular Spanish soap series “Elite” for an eighth season which is slated to begin production next month.

In addition Mina el Hammani, who played Nadia during the show’s first three seasons, will reprise her role in the eighth with no details as to how many episodes she will appear in. [Source: TV Line]

Invincible
Prime Video has premiered a new poster for the upcoming second season of its animated superhero series “Invincible”. Sadly no premiere date, which many have been waiting years for, has been announced – only that it’s soon.

Wilderness
Prime Video has also released first images for Marnie Dickens’ “Wilderness” series based on B.E. Jones’ novel with the movie launching this Fall.

The story stars Jenna Coleman and Oliver Jackson-Cohen as a happy British couple on a dream American road trip. Thing is, she recently learned about his having an affair.

Whilst he sees the holiday as a chance to make amends, she sees it as an opportunity to get some lethal revenge. The pair bump into another couple and a foursome hike soon changes the course of all their lives.
