The Sandman
Netflix has announced that the first season of its adaptation of Neil Gaiman’s fantasy comic “The Sandman” will hit 4K UHD and Blu-ray on September 8th.

The physical release will be available to purchase online and in-store at major retailers, with digital versions available on Amazon Prime Video, AppleTV, Google Play, Vudu, and more. The releases include several featurettes. [Source: Blu-ray.com]

The Tonight Show
Jimmy Fallon has issued an apology to his staff in the wake of a damning Rolling Stone report highlighting an alleged ‘toxic workplace’ at NBC’s “The Tonight Show” over the years with multiple employees saying that their mental health was impacted.

Fallon says in his statement: “I’m sorry if I embarrassed you. I never set out to create that type of atmosphere at the show. I think sometimes I’m working with the best of the best, you guys are the top of the game.” The series is currently on hiatus due to the strikes. [Source: Deadline]

Barbie
A new piece about Mattel in The New York Times has revealed that the “Barbie” movie first came to the company’s attention as a 147-page script which they dub “the length of a Quentin Tarantino film”. Greta Gerwig and Noah Baumbach’s script eventually became a 114-minute film that went on to gross over $1.3 billion worldwide.

Ophelia
A recent report at Vulture indicates movie public relations company allegedly tried to adjust the Rotten Tomatoes score for 2018’s indie film “Ophelia,” doing so by reportedly contacting a number of self-published critics and allegedly offering upwards of $50 to watch and review the film. The Creator
20th Century Studios has released a new one-minute trailer for “Rogue One” director Gareth Edwards’ new sci-fi feature “The Creator” which revolves around around the war between humans and artificial intelligence. “The Creator” will debut in cinemas on September 29th.

John David Washington plays a hardened ex-special forces agent grieving the disappearance of his wife (Gemma Chan) when he’s recruited to hunt down and kill the elusive architect of advanced AI who has developed a mysterious weapon with the power to end the war – a weapon in the form of a young child.
