King Richard
Jon Bernthal is in negotiations to star as famed tennis coach Rick Macci in “King Richard,” the upcoming drama starring Will Smith as Richard Williams, father of prodigal tennis champs Venus and Serena. Saniyya Sidney, Demi Singleton and Aunjanue Ellis co-star.

Macci honed and polish that talent while allowing the girls to be kids. In his time he also trained Jennifer Capriati along with coaching the likes of Maria Sharapova and Andy Roddick. The Reinaldo Marcus Green-directed film is due out this Fall. [Source: Deadline]

Newcomer Moses Ingram will play Lady Macduff, wife of Macduff (Corey Hawkins) in Joel Coen’s upcoming adaptation of William Shakespeare’s “Macbeth” for A24. She joins a cast that includes Denzel Washington as Macbeth, Frances McDormand as Lady Macbeth and Brendan Gleeson as King Duncan.

Coen is directing from his own original screenplay, and Macbeth will mark his first time not working alongside his brother Ethan Coen with whom he shares four Oscars. Shooting kicks off in the next few weeks. [Source: Collider]

The Banker
Apple has set its drama “The Banker” for a March 6th release in cinemas before it arrives on Apple TV+ on March 20th. The new date follows the project’s pulling out of the AFI Fest and postponed theatrical release last Fall.

The new release date was set following Appleā€™s conclusion of its investigation of the sexual misconduct allegations surrounding Bernard Garrett Jr., son of the character Anthony Mackie plays in the movie and a co-producer on the film. Garrett Jr. has been removed as a co-producer and he “will not profit from the release of the film in any form” according to a statement from Apple. [Source: Deadline]

Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker
In its 28th day of release, Disney and Lucasfilm’s “Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker” has passed the $1 billion mark – making it the seventh Disney movie of 2019 to break that marker and the fifth “Star Wars” movie to cross that threshold – but passed the milestone significantly more slowly than the previous two entries which passed the marker on their 12th and 19th days respectively. Disney has also released the Babu Frik scene in full which you can see below.
