Resident Evil
A new photo is out from “Weapons” filmmaker Zach Cregger’s new take on Capcom’s highly popular survival horror video game series “Resident Evil”. Actor Austin Abrams’ character can be seen encountering one of the undead in the film.

Abrams plays a medical courier who unwittingly finds himself in an action-packed, non-stop race for survival, as one fateful, horrifying night collapses into chaos around him. The film opens in cinemas on September 18th. [Source: Empire]

Dune: Part Three
The next trailer for Denis Villeneuve’s “Dune: Part Three” will reportedly arrive next week – launching on July 8th as part of a global IMAX event at AMC Lincoln Square in New York City.

Villeneuve himself will be hosting a live-streamed Q&A session on the occasion, with the event running from 1-3pm on the day. Special commemorative giveaways and free concessions will be on offer. [Source: Average Socialite]

Paranormal Activity
Chase Yi (“Mythic Quest”) has scored a lead role in the next “Paranormal Activity” movie at Blumhouse Atomic Monster and Paramount Pictures. Ian Tuason (“Undertone”) directs the film.

Plot and character specifics for the new entry in the found-footage franchise remain under wraps, with the movie slated for a release in cinemas on May 21st 2027. James Wan, Jason Blum and Oren Peli will produce. [Source: Deadline]

The Odyssey
IMAX has premiered a new featurette in which filmmaker Christopher Nolan and the various cast members of his ancient Greek epic “The Odyssey” talk about filming the entire project with IMAX film cameras.

The production team collaborated to develop specialised equipment to maintain cinematic immersion while navigating the unique physical demands of shooting on the massive, high-resolution format. The results will be seen when the film opens July 17th.
