Rabbit Trap
Dev Patel, Rosy McEwen and Jade Croot are set to star in the horror movie “Rabbit Trap” which recently completed filming on location in Wales. Bryn Chainey pens and directs the film which counts Elijah Wood amongst its producers.
Set in 1973, the film charts the story of married musicians who’ve relocated to an isolated cabin in Wales complete their new record. They accidentally make a field recording of a mystical sound and find themselves caught between the ancient spirits of the natural world and the lives they once knew. [Source: Deadline]
Whistle
Corin Hardy (“The Nun”) has been set to direct the high school horror movie “Whistle” starring Dafne Keen, Sophie Nélisse, Sky Yang, Percy Hynes White and Nick Frost.
The film follows a misfit group of unwitting high school students stumble upon a cursed object, an ancient Aztec Death Whistle that can summon their future deaths to hunt them down. [Source: Deadline]
American Criminal
“Warrior” and “The Accountant” filmmaker Gavin O’Connor is in negotiations to direct a film adaptation of Benjamin Percy’s novella “American Criminal” at Hidden Pictures, NeoText and Amazon MGM Studios. O’Connor most recently directed the Ben Affleck-led “The Way Back”.
The story follows a professional thief who is apprehended by an FBI agent and coaxed into infiltrating a violent Midwestern gang with the goal of dismantling them from the inside. However, the FBI agent doesn’t realise the thief is also orchestrating the largest – and last – heist of his life. [Source: Variety]
The Nun II
Warner Bros. Pictures has set an October 27th premiere date on Max for “The Nun” sequel, the release coming just one month and three weeks after its opening in cinemas on September 8th. The film in total has made $257.6 million at the worldwide box office. [Source: Max]
Godzilla Minus One
Two TV spots, which are essentially cut down versions of the two trailers thus far, have been revealed for “Godzilla Minus One”. Toho’s reboot of the classic kaiju franchise makes its way into cinemas on December 1st.
