The Nightingale
Sony’s WWII drama “The Nightingale,” starring Elle and Dakota Fanning and directed by Melanie Laurent, has been pushed back a year to December 22nd 2021 due to the COVID-19 production shutdown.
Based on Kristin Hannah’s international bestseller, the story follows the sisters’ struggle to survive and resist the German occupation of France. The story was inspired by the courageous women of the French Resistance who helped downed Allied airmen escape Nazi-occupied territory and hid Jewish children. [Source: Deadline]
The Gilded Age
Carrie Coon (“The Leftovers”) will replace Amanda Peet in the role of Bertha Russell in the HBO period drama “The Gilded Age” which aims to begin filming this Fall. Bertha is a woman who uses her husband’s business success to infiltrate the upper crust.
Developed by Julian Fellowes and set in 1880s America, the story centers on young Marian Brook, an orphaned daughter of a Southern general who moves in with her aunts in New York City and finds herself thrust into high society. [Source: TV Line]
The Aliens Are Stealing Our Weed
Gina Rodriguez is attached to star in “The Aliens Are Stealing Our Weed” for Paramount Pictures. Ryan Firpo (Marvel’s “Eternals”) penned the script while Rodriguez will also produce with Kaz and Ryan Firpo.
The story follows Candice (Rodriguez) and Izzy, two hapless pot growers who, after their entire crop of weed inexplicably goes missing, uncover an alien conspiracy to steal the planet’s marijuana supply. [Source: Variety]

Chris Pratt has announced a new charity sweepstakes and auction related to “Jurassic World: Dominion” as part of the ‘ALLINCHALLENGE’.
