The People Upstairs
“Little Miss Sunshine” and “Battle of the Sexes” helmers Jonathan Dayton and Valerie Faris will direct “The People Upstairs,” an English-language remake of the comedy “Sentimental,” for FilmNation.
Rashida Jones & Will McCormack wrote the script and filming begins later this year. The story follows a middle-aged couple feeling stagnant in their relationship and invite the younger and livelier couple from the apartment upstairs for a get-together that takes an unexpected turn. Filmmaker Marc Webb (“The Amazing Spider-Man”) has been set to direct the supernatural thriller “Day Drinker”. Zach Dean penned the love and revenge-themed film set in coastal France, Portugal, and Spain and deals with the bond between an enigmatic stranger and a bartender mourning the loss of her lover. Woke
Hulu has premiered the second season of “Woke” which follows Keef Knight (Larmone Morris), a black cartoonist who shied away from controversial viewpoints until he’s assaulted by a cop which pushes him into activism.
In the new run, Keef is an activist on the rise and he must learn to navigate this new world. The second season premieres with all eight episodes Friday, April 8th.
