I Know This Much Is True
HBO has delayed Derek Cianfrance’s six-part limited series “I Know This Much Is True,” the event series will now debut on Sunday, May 10th – two weeks later than its originally scheduled Monday, April 27th debut. Based on the best-selling novel by Wally Lamb, Mark Ruffalo stars as Dominick as he struggles to take care of his schizophrenic twin brother Thomas, also portrayed by Ruffalo. [Source: HBO]
J.J. Villard’s Fairy Tales
Adult Swim has debuted the first trailer for the upcoming quarter-hour animated series “J.J. Villard’s Fairy Tales” which offers twisted versions of famed Brothers Grimm stories including Cinderella, Pinocchio, Red Riding Hood, and Goldilocks and the Three Bears.
The series will feature an ensemble voice cast including Linda Blair, Warwick Davis, Robert Englund, Corey Feldman and Jennifer Tilly. The series is set to premiere on Sunday, May 10th.
Don’t Go in the Water
Universal Pictures has set Stephen Williams, the helmer of several episodes of HBO’s “Watchmen” series, to direct the creature feature “Don’t Go in The Water”. Shawn Levy and Dan Levine will produce. Peter Gaffney penned the suspenseful monster movie whose premise is under wraps but is likely to be partly inspired by “Creature from The Black Lagoon”. [Source: Variety]
Here We Are
Apple TV+ has released the official trailer for their 2017 animated short film adaptation of Oliver Jeffers’ children’s book “Here We Are: Notes for Living on Planet Earth”. Meryl Streep narrates the animated short which will be available for streaming on Friday April 17th.
The story follows a precocious 7-year-old who, over the course of Earth Day, learns about the wonders of the planet from his parents – and from a mysterious exhibit at the aptly titled Museum of Everything. Chris O’Dowd, Ruth Negga and Jacob Tremblay co-star.
