Operation Mincemeat
Netflix has released the first photos from “Operation Mincemeat,” the John Madden-directed drama about the absurd real life WW2 operation.

The story follows two British officers who use the body of a dead man to spread misinformation to the Axis powers. Colin Firth, Matthew Macfadyen, Kelly Macdonald and Johnny Flynn star. [Source: Twitter]

Who Killed the KLF?
Following its debut at Fantastic Fest this weekend, a feature documentary about the iconic late 1980s/1990s UK electronic band The KLF has been picked up for world sales by Film Mode Entertainment.

Chris Atkins helms the film which chronicles the pioneering band who famously burned a million quid, shot machine gun blanks over an awards show crowd’s heads, used Illuminati and Dadaist imagery in their music videos, and deleted their entire back-catalogue when leaving the business. Aline
Roadside Attractions and Samuel Goldwyn Films have picked up U.S. distribution rights to “Aline,” a musical comedy-drama biopic loosely based on the life of Celine Dion. The film premiered at Cannes and will be released theatrically in the U.S. in early 2022. [Source: Variety]

Iron Mike
Russell Hornsby (“Creed II,” “Fences”) has been cast as notorious boxing promoter Don King in “Iron Mike,” the Hulu limited series about Mike Tyson (played by Trevante Rhodes). The story explores the wild, tragic and controversial life and career of Tyson.

“I, Tonya” screenwriter Steven Rogers created the series and will executive produce. Karin Gist will serve as showrunner and executive produce. Filming on the eight-episode series is currently underway. [Source: Variety]

Beck Bennett and Lauren Holt are exiting while Aidy Bryant, Pete Davidson, Kate McKinnon and Cecily Strong will return for the upcoming 47th season of NBC’s “Saturday Night Live”.
