The Matrix Resurrections
Director Lana Wachowski’s “The Matrix Resurrections” has been officially rated R for ‘violence and some language’ by the Motion Picture Association. That ties in with the previous films in the series which were also all rated R. ‘Reloaded’ held the spot of the highest-grossing R-rated film of all time for over a decade. [Source: Collider]

Foe
Amazon Studios has acquired worldwide rights to “Lion” director Garth Davis’ sci-fi thriller “Foe” in a deal worth more than $30 million. Saoirse Ronan and Paul Mescal star while Aaron Pierre recently came on board, replacing LaKeith Stanfield.

The film is a personal relationship story and cautionary tale set in the near future when corporate power and environmental decay are ravaging the planet. Filming is due to get underway early next year in Australia. [Source: Deadline]

Transformers
Steven Caple Jr. has announced the wrapping of production on “Transformers: Rise of the Beasts” with a photo of himself sitting in the cab of Optimus Prime. The new film is set in 1994 and serves as something of a bridging vehicle between “Bumblebee” and 2007’s “Transformers”. The movie arrives in June. [Source: Instagram]

Riverdale
The CW has released the official trailer for ‘Rivervale,’ the upcoming five-episode special event kicking off the sixth season of “Riverdale”.

The trailer teases a supernatural horror arc for Archie and the gang and sees the appearance of Kiernan Shipka’s Sabrina Spellman who helps Cheryl with a dangerous spell.

Last Night in Soho
Focus Features has released a new music video for actress Anya Taylor-Joy’s downtempo rendition of the classic “Downtown” in filmmaker Edgar Wright’s new thriller “Last Night in Soho” in which she stars alongside Thomasin Harcourt McKenzie, Matt Smith, Terence Stamp and Diana Rigg. “Last Night in Soho” opens in theaters on October 29th.
