A new photo has been released of Glen Powell starring in Edgar Wright’s new take on “The Running Man,” a photo appropriately showing the film’s star running… on a treadmill. Powell plays Ben Richards, a man who enters a deadly televised game to win the money he desperately needs to save his family. The films opens this Fall. [Source: Empire Online]
Superman
James Gunn’s “Superman” will reportedly pass the $291 million domestic gross of Zack Snyder’s “Man of Steel” tomorrow, becoming the highest-grossing “Superman” film domestically. At the end of Sunday, the film was up to $503.6 million worldwide with $214 million of that coming from overseas, where it’s unlikely to reach the $379 million gross that “Man of Steel” achieved in 2013. Teen Titans
DC Studios chief James Gunn has clarified recent confusion about the upcoming “Teen Titans ” film, saying the movie’s writer Ana Nogueira was working on it, then was asked by Gunn to move to the new “Wonder Woman” script and finish that first, which she did. She’s now presumably back on “Teen Titans”. [Source: THR]
The Gilded Age
HBO has renewed Julian Fellowes’ period drama “The Gilded Age” for a fourth season, the order coming with two episodes left to air in the show’s current third season. Ratings growth has seen the series set viewership highs multiple times this season, and it is running 20% ahead of last season. [Source: THR]
Silent Night, Deadly Night
The teaser trailer has been released for Cineverse’s “Silent Night, Deadly Night,” an unrated new take on the controversial Christmas-themed horror franchise which debuted in 1984.
The film tells the story of a young man with a traumatic past who takes it upon himself to spread a little holiday… fear. Rohan Campbell, Ruby Modine, Mark Acheson, David Lawrence Brown, and David Tomlinson star in the film, which Mike P. Nelson directs. The movie is set to open in cinemas on December 12th.
