The Running Man
Edgar Wright’s new take on Stephen King’s “The Running Man” has been delayed – albeit only by a week. The Glen Powell-led action comedy film will now open in wide release on November 14th to take advantage of access to IMAX screens. [Source: Deadline]
Vicious
The Dakota Fanning-led horror movie “Vicious,” previously pulled from theatrical release, is set to debut via streaming later this year on October 10th. Kathryn Hunter, Mary McCormack, Rachel Blanchard, Devyn Nekoda, Klea Scott and Emily Mitchell co-star.
Original “The Strangers” writer-director Bryan Bertino helms the film about a woman who receives a gift from a late-night visitor and becomes trapped in a world where reality is not what it seems. [Source: THR]
Disney
Disney has set an August 19th digital release date and a 4K UHD, Blu-ray, and DVD release date of September 9th for tis Summer’s Pixar feature “Elio”. The release contains deleted scenes, gag reel, and featurettes. Meanwhile, Marvel’s “Thunderbolts” has officially set an August 27th premiere date on the Disney+ service. [Source: Disney]
Close Personal Friends
Brie Larson, Lily Collins, Jack Quaid and Henry Golding are set to star in “Big Time Adolescence” director Jason Orley’s new comedy “Close Personal Friends” at Amazon MGM Studios. Isaac Aptaker penned the script.
The story follows a couple that meets and befriends a celebrity couple while on a trip to Santa Barbara. Personal lines get crossed, among other things, and awkward hilarity ensues. Filming begins in London in September. Aptaker, Ashley Fox, Johnny Pariseau and Elizabeth Berger produce. [Source: THR]
Fast & Furious: Arcade Edition
Developer Cradle Games and publisher GameMill Entertainment have set an October 24th release date for “Fast & Furious: Arcade Edition” on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.
Players will be able to play solo or split-screen co-op across several tracks from around the world, including the Swiss Alps and Hong Kong. The story delivers high-speed racing and pedal-to-the-metal action straight from the original arcade game to consoles.
