I Love That For You
Showtime has cancelled its eight-episode comedy series “I Love That for You” after one season, which wrapped its run a year ago. The series was executive produced by Vanessa Bayer, Jeremy Beiler and Jessi Klein. The production is open to search for a new home by shopping it around to other networks.

Bayer starred as a budding shopping channel on-air host who falsely claims that her childhood cancer has returned as a means to keep her job. Molly Shannon, Paul James, Ayden Mayeri, Matt Rogers, Punam Patel and Jenifer Lewis co-starred. [Source: TV Line]

Jeanne Du Barry
Maiwenn’s costume drama “Jeanne Du Barry” which opened Cannes this year and stars Johnny Depp as 18th century French King Louis XV, has been acquired by Vertical for North America.

Maiwenn stars as Jeanne Vaubernier, a working-class woman who rises the social ranks and becomes the King’s mistress, even as she is also a social pariah at the Versailles Palace. Depp’s first leading role in three years, the film has grossed nearly $4.1 million during its first two weeks in theatres in France. [Source: Variety]

Amazon Prime
Amazon is reportedly planning to introduce an ad-supported tier to its Prime Video platform with discussions having been underway for several weeks.

Still in the early stages, Amazon is also reportedly in talks with Warner Bros, Discovery and Paramount to include ad-supported subscriptions through Prime Video Channels. [Source: The Wall Street Journal]

The Afterparty
Apple TV+ has premiered the trailer for the second season of its hit murder mystery comedy series “The Afterparty” from Oscar winners Chris Miller and Phil Lord.

The ten-episode new season follows a new mystery involving a murdered groom, new characters and new episodes told through popular film genres. The first two episodes debut on July 12th with further episodes followed weekly through September 6th.

Tiffany Haddish, Sam Richardson and Zoe Chao return and are joined by Elizabeth Perkins, Zach Woods, Paul Walter Hauser, Poppy Liu, Anna Konkle, Jack Whitehall, Vivian Wu, John Cho and Ken Jeong.
