Look Back
GKIDS has announced that they have secured the North American rights to Oscar-nominated Japanese director Hirokazu Kore-eda’s new film “Look Back,” an adaptation of the popular manga by Tatsuki Fujimoto (“Chainsaw Man”)
The story follows two schoolgirls – one of whom struggles with extreme social anxiety – whose shared ambition of becoming manga artists brings them together. The project is expected to premiere on the Fall film festival circuit. [Source: THR]
Aang: The Last Airbender
Famed storyboard artist Lauren Montgomery serves as director of the upcoming “Avatar Aang: The Last Airbender,” the continuation/direct sequel of the Nickelodeon animated television series “Avatar: The Last Airbender”.
She’s confirmed the film has officially wrapped and was screened for the crew. The title will release on Paramount+ on October 9th. [Source: Instagram]
Godzilla Minus Zero
A first look at Takashi Yamazaki’s “Godzilla Minus Zero” will take place at CinemaCon in Las Vegas in mid-April with the Oscar-winning director to appear on stage at the convention as part of GKIDS’ presentation.
Attendees will see exclusive sneak peek footage from the upcoming instalment in the long-running franchise, which will release in November. [Source: Variety]
