Looks that Kill
Gravitas Ventures has acquired the worldwide rights to Kellen Moore’s “Looks that Kill” with a June 19th digital release date set for the high school dark comedy.

Brandon Flynn plays Max Richards, a teenager born with a medical condition of being lethally attractive, who is changed forever when he meets Alex, a girl with her own bizarre ailment who aids him on his quest of self-discovery – without accidentally killing anyone. Julia Goldani Telles, Ki Hong Lee and Annie Mumolo co-star. [Source: THR]

Untitled Quiet Place Scribes Project
Sony Pictures has landed an untitled sci-fi thriller hailing from “A Quiet Place” scribes and “Haunt” directors Scott Beck and Bryan Woods who are set to write, direct and produce their original script. Sam Raimi, Zainab Azizi and Debbie Liebling will produce. Plot details for the original story are being kept under wraps, but Beck and Woods recently wrote and directed one episode of Raimi’s Quibi series “50 States of Fright”. [Source: Variety]

Covenant
Spyglass Media Group has acquired Elizabeth Bear’s sci-fi short story “Covenant” which will be written by the “10 Cloverfield Lane” writers Josh Campbell & Matt Stuecken. Roger Birnbaum and Michael Besman will produce.

The story follows a serial killer sentenced to ‘rightminding,’ a process that will neurologically cure him of his impulse to kill. This changes not only his brain function, but his body as well, and on one cold New England morning he becomes the target. [Source: Deadline]

Special Delivery
Dolphin Entertainment has acquired the rights to Brian Hurwitz’s script “Special Delivery” and have attached Vaughn Stein to direct. The story follows Jess, whose world comes crashing down around her when she aggressively rebuffs a member of a powerful crime family. Her only chance at survival is to drive from Los Angeles to Las Vegas and deliver a mysterious package to a notorious gambler by midnight. She’s also being chased by two different men, each motivated by greed and revenge. [Source: Variety]

Thirteen Lives
MGM has scored the rights to the Ron Howard-directed Thai cave rescue movie “Thirteen Lives” which will be penned by “Gladiator” scribe William Nicholson.

The film tells the true story of the 2018 rescue of twelve boys and their soccer coach from a flooded, impenetrable cave system in Thailand. P.J. van Sandwijk, Gabrielle Tana, Brian Grazer, Karen Lunder and Howard will produce. [Source: MGM]
