Joker: Folie a Deux
Filmmaker Todd Phillips has released a rather striking new photo from the upcoming “Joker: Folie a Deux” via his Instagram account – the shot showcasing Joaquin Phoenix in the title role in the DC sequel.
Phoenix is joined by Grammy-winning superstar Lady Gaga as Harley Quinn in the film which also stars Zazie Beetz, Brendan Gleeson, Catherine Keener, Jacob Lofland, and Harry Lawtey. [Source: Instagram]
Barbie
In the wake of its digital release, Warner Bros. Home Entertainment has finally set an October 17th release date for “Barbie” on 4K UHD, Blu-ray, and DVD.
Special features include six featurettes titled “Welcome to Barbie Land,” “Becoming Barbie,” “Playing Dress-Up,” “Musical Make-Believe,” “All-Star Barbie Party,” and “It’s A Weird World.” [Source: WBHE]
Michael
Universal Pictures International will serve as the international distributor for the Antoine Fuqua-directed Michael Jackson biopic “Michael” which stars Jackson’s real-life nephew Jaafar Jackson as the singer. Lionsgate is handing the film domestically.
The film aims to explore all aspects of Jackson’s life, including his most iconic performances. John Logan penned the script and filming is set to begin once the SAG-AFTRA strike resolves. [Source: UPI]
The Tourist
Pablo Trapero (“Mundo Grua,” “Echo 3”) has been set to direct an adaptation of Olen Steinhauer’s book series “The Tourist”. Neal H. Moritz and Toby Jaffe are producing for 20th Century Studios.
The story follows Milo Weaver who is an agent in the secret branch of the CIA that specializes in black ops with the code name ‘The Tourists’. [Source: Deadline]
