Infamous
Sucker Punch Productions game designer Nate Fox, who directed “Ghost of Tsushima” and October’s “Ghost of Yotei,” was asked about the company potentially returning to the “Infamous” franchise.
He says: “I would love to work on more Infamous. I would love to see a trilogy rerelease, but Sucker Punch is a one game at a time shop, and right now we are very focused on finishing Ghost of Yōtei.” [Source: VGC]
Barbie
Illumination (“Despicable Me,” “The Super Mario Bros. Movie”) and Mattel Studios have closed a deal to develop a new animated “Barbie” movie for theatrical release. No story details or creative talent is currently attached. Mattel currently has a live-action “Masters of the Universe” film set for releae in 2026. [Source: Deadline]
Werwulf
Robert Eggers is bringing back his good luck charm, Oscar-nominated actor Willem Dafoe, for his next project “Werwulf” at Focus Features. Dafoe marks the third “Nosferatu” star to join the action, re-teaming with the new film’s leads Aaron-Taylor Johnson and Lily Rose-Depp.
Eggers will direct and co-wrote the script with Sjón (“The Northman”). Details of the werewolf tale are under wraps beyond it being Eggers’ darkest film yet. The film will get a Christmas Day 2026 release in North America. [Source: Deadline]
Practical Magic
Nicole Kidman posted a video today of herself and Sandra Bullock filming on their first day on the set of “Practical Magic 2,” the long in the works sequel to the 1998 original. The caption reads: “The witches are back. Owens sisters’ first day on set!”. Susanne Bier is directing from a screenplay co-written by Akiva Goldsman and Georgia Pritchett
Bullock and Kidman return as sisters Sally and Gillian Owens, who descend from a long line of witches. In the original they fought off a curse that kills the men they fall in love with. Dianne Wiest and Stockard Channing are also back and are joined by Lee Pace, Joey King, Maisie Williams and Xolo Maridueña.
