Double Indemnity
The Criterion Collection has announced its May titles with a 4K UHD release of Billy Wilder’s iconic noir “Double Indemnity” which boasts a 4K digital restoration with an uncompressed monaural soundtrack and Dolby Vision HDR transfer.
Also coming is Wayne Wang’s “Chan Is Missing,” Juzo Itami’s “The Funeral,” Joseph Losey’s “Mr, Klein” and Mira Nair’s “Mississippi Masala”. [Source: Criterion]
Gotham Knights
Series executive producer Danny Cannon has announced that production will start in April on the pilot of its DC Comics-inspired series “Gotham Knights” for The CW. The series is expected to be separate from the Arrowverse and begins in the wake of Bruce Wayne’s murder. [Source: Instagram]
Spanish Dracula
Chris Weitz and Paul Weitz will co-write and co-direct “Spanish Dracula,” a true story biopic about silent film star and Mexican actress Lupita Tovar who starred in Spanish-language versions of old Universal films like “Dracula”. The Weitz brothers are her grandsons and will produce with Andrew Miano and Pancho Kohner. [Source: Deadline]
Star Wars: The Old Republic
Tied to its 10th anniversary, a new six-minute cinematic trailer was released for the just-launched ‘Legacy of the Sith’ expansion for the “Star Wars: The Old Republic” video game. The trailer follows Padawan Sa’har, her conflicted relationship with Jedi Master Orr, and a confrontation with Darth Malgus.
