The teaser trailer for the long-awaited “Hocus Pocus” sequel conjured up major numbers for the Disney+ service with 43.6 million views in its first 24 hours.
That launch beats the likes of “The Book of Boba Fett” (23 million), “Luca” (28 million), and “The Mandalorian” teasers for the first two seasons (35 million each). Amazon Studios has won a competitive auction for the buddy comedy “Foreign Relations” which re-teams “Jumanji” alum Nick Jonas and “Top Gun: Maverick” star Glen Powell. Charlie Kesslering will pen the script while Kat Coiro is directing. [Source: Deadline]

VFX legend Phil Tippett’s stop-motion animated epic “Mad God” has become the most-watched 2022 film premiere on horror streaming platform Shudder. Tippett spent thirty years working on the film which premiered on Shudder on June 16th. It tells the story of an assassin exploring a dystopian ruined city. [Source: Variety]
