Quick News Hidden Baby Panic Fires Bill

A Hidden Life
Fox Searchlight has picked up rights for United States and several international territories for Terrence Malick’s WWII drama “A Hidden Life” which held its world premiere Sunday in competition at the Cannes Film Festival.

The true story tale follows Austrian farmer Franz Jägerstatter who rejected Adolf Hitler and objected to the war, and was ultimately ostracized and imprisoned for his convictions. August Diehl, Maria Simon, Tobias Moretti, the late Bruno Ganz and Matthias Schoenaerts star. [Source: Variety]

Boss Baby 2
Tom McGrath, who helmed the Oscar-nominated first “The Boss Baby” movie in 2017, is returning to direct the sequel for DreamWorks Animation sequel. The first film made over $527 million at the worldwide box office, spawned a Netflix series, and now has set a March 26th 2021 release date for a follow-up. [Source: Deadline]

Amazon Studios has greenlit its first young adult drama series “Panic” based on Lauren Oliver’s 2014 novel for Amazon Prime Video. Oliver will write each episode and is the creator and executive producer, while Olivia Welch, Mike Faist, Ray Nicholson and Will Chase have been cast.

The story takes viewers to a small town in America, where every year the graduating seniors engage in a competition they believe is their one chance to escape. But this year, the rules have changed – and they must decide how much they are willing to risk in order to get out. [Source: Variety]

Little Fires Everywhere
Joshua Jackson has been cast as the male lead in Hulu’s “Little Fires Everywhere” series based on Celeste Ng’s 2017 bestseller of the same name. Reese Witherspoon, Kerry Washington and Rosemarie DeWitt also star while Liz Tigelaar will write and serve as showrunner.

The story follows the intertwined fates of the picture-perfect Richardson family and an enigmatic mother and daughter who upend their lives. Jackson will play Bill Richardson, a Shaker Heights attorney who agrees to represent their friends in a fiery custody battle. Wild Bill
The trailer has been released for the ITV drama series “Wild Bill” starring Rob Lowe as U.S. cop Bill Hixon, an analytics expert who has just been appointed Chief Constable of the East Lincolnshire Police Force in the UK. “The Hunted” writer David Griffiths created the series which also stars Rachael Stirling, Angela Griffin and Tony Pitts.
